Boniface Owoicho Onogwu (Big Boni).
The Orokam (Ogbadibo LGA, Benue State) born veteran broadcaster teed off broadcasting some odd 41 years ago at Radio Nigeria,
FRCN, Ikoyi, Lagos (1983).
He moved to
Rhythm 93.7fm, Lekki Beach, Lagos, in 1998 and was the
Pioneer Head of Station, Rhythm 94.7fm, Abuja, from 2001-2003, Pioneer Station Manager, Solid 100.9 fm, Enugu, from 2012-2013 and now Dep. General Manager, Magic 102.9fm, Aba, Abia State.
He was popularly called
Boni with da face on Radio Nigeria, later
Big 'Baad' Boni on Rhythm back then.
A thoroughbred traditional man, he goes by his local titles of
Okateche 1 of his native Orokam and Enyioha 1 in Aba.
Boni Onogwu learnt under some of the best known names in broadcasting like
Sidney Ufeli, Chris Awuzie, George Omagbemi, Osaze Iyamu, Willie Egbe, Veronica Osawere, Zachary Mohammed, Ikenna Ndaguba, Benson Idonije (Burna Boy's Maternal Grandfather), Jacob Akinyemi-Johnson, JAJ, Ndidi Osaka, to mention a few; some dead; some living.
He's an embodiment of fun which underscores his youthful attitude to life.

Boni Onogwu concentrates more on
Strategic/Administrative matters, Corporate Communications, News and presentation of 'Mature' programmes like People and Politics and Indepth Analytical Interviews.
